Winter is Coming. (Face)

Winter is coming. Or better yet, dry, flaky, patchy skin is coming. As a member of the Oily Skin Hive, winter was always a refreshing break from constant greasy skin and the pimples that can come from it. But for my dry skin counterparts, it can become mission impossible combating dry skin.

Let's get down to the basics of hydrating dry skin.

E X F O L I A T E. If your skin is flaking, a quick buffing is in order! Using an exfoliator with gentle buffing agents 2-3 times a week and it should take care of any flaky skin you may have. Be sure not to over exfoliate, your skin will have a negative reaction.

Don't forget to use a toner! Toner's are excellent for balancing skin types. Rose Water toner is a fan favorite when it comes to hydrating skin without making it oil by drawing moisture to your skin.

Finish with a water-based moisturizer. Water is your skin's favorite ingredient, butters and oils could never compare, yet are still needed. Water-based moisturizers hydrate your skin the same way water helps every other aspect of your body, the heavy creams, butters and oils assist in sealing in the moisture. This applies to face and body.  Hopefully after about a week you will notice a difference in the texture of your skin edits overall water retention.
